.. of Shopping

As some of you may know, I have been on the hunt for the perfect black chelsea boots for years. Literally. Fashion trends have been in my favor for the past few seasons with the strong resurgence of the masculine aesthetic. Loafers and oxfords were huge last season and this Fall the opportunity to find my one and only is good. Really good. I should go to Vegas with these odds baby...

The goring on the side is almost a necessity. It bothers me though. Maybe if it was only on the inside? The thing is it makes it infinitely easier to get your foot in there. Unfortunately, it makes it just as easy to get your foot out. So unless they're cut spectacularly well there may be a slippage issue. I solved this problem in the Tory Burch boots by inserting some Dr. Scholl's. They serve a dual purpose of also making them more comfortable because unless the sole is rubber it will be like wearing dress shoes ie loud and hard.

The update this season on the classic style has been the crossing leather straps across the vamp/ankle. I like it but the horizontal line may make your legs appear shorter. This theory has not been tested but I'm making an educated guess here. With this kind of detail it would be better to tuck the front of your denim/pants behind the flap on the front thus exposing the straps. I prefer to tuck my pants behind the tab in the back because this elongates the leg in front. So I would end up hiding the straps. Problem.

Then of course if you'd like to wear the exact same outfit when it's raining...

Did you notice the tucking of the pants?

.. of Style Inspiration

Blogger edition... (some weeks the boys are boring what can I say)

I missed out on that blazer at Zara. I needed it in a large which was only available online. So Sad.

Metallic footwear. 'nuff said.

Still on the hunt for leather pants. Found a pair at, you guessed it, Zara, on sale no less but they were more like ankle restraints on me as I couldn't get them past my calves. When will evolution catch up with the fact that my people don't spend all day in the potato fields anymore? Huh? When?

Ripped denim and a chelsea boot. Ripping denim is easy enough. Finding the perfect chelsea boot? A topic for another day ie tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Altuzarra heels (similar) + skinny dark denim (similar) + Alexander Wang bag (similar) + peplum (similar)

Peplums make me look like a pregnant 5 year old which is not socially acceptable so I'll leave this trend alone for now.

.. of Personal Style

So the one year anniversary of the/my daily/daly dose (I still haven't figured that part out) was June 23rd. I didn't mention it because well, I don't have anything to say about it really! It's just weird... I'll only be blogging for less than one more year though because one of two things is bound to happen...

A. The world ends sometime in December. The exact date is fuzzy but, I hope its after Christmas cuz I want presents.

2. I off myself before I turn 30 in April. Even if I decide to grin and bear it I intend to "groundhog" and repeat 29. 29 was fun. I got married... became an Aunt again... twice... I'm sticking at 29.

Which means the blog will turn one again June 23rd. I'll still probably not have much to say about it but, I do believe this justifies a new pair of shoes! Doesn't everything...

"her blog is one! that's right her! the one with the vodka spill on her shirt!"
