Why people get Botox I'll never know. Look at Bill Murray! His face tells a million stories.

Can we take a moment to discuss how horrible the naming department is at Zara? Are these direct translations from Spanish to English? I think we can all just call it "Vamp", no?

Just bought this for ma honey. Before you say anything like "oh yeah he's never gonna wear that" you should know he actually asked for a reindeer sweater... 2 years in a row. And now his bucket list is complete.

I finally got around to getting out my winter coats last night. I've never been one to store off-season clothing. I think all of your clothing should fit in your closet all year or you just have too much clothing. Plus, whenever I see empty space in my closet I feel the need to fill it. The best way to avoid that is never to have any empty space which inevitably occurs when you store something.

THEN hubs moved back in. And all hell broke loose. He took over the only closet with a door which initially required me to buy one of those cheap external wardrobes with a plastic cover.

THEN my cats, bless their fat little hearts, decided to use the inside of the bottom of the plastic wardrobe as a bathroom. Which led to storage.

Now that the chill is in the air again I had the chance to break open that gray plastic bin to find things I had forgotten about. And I have a new found admiration for storage. It was like shopping for a whole new coat wardrobe except each coat I took out already had a story behind it that came flooding back and I didn't have to spend a penny.

"I bought this leather coat when I was 16 on sale at my first job at the Gap...

Awwww! I wore this at my wedding... *brief break for making out with hubs*

Oh, I wore this on my birthdaaaaay...

This trench makes me feel like a streaker... don't know why."

Anyway, I've long since thrown out the plastic litter box and decided to replace it with a large silver metro shelf. It actually fills out the room nicely and allows for extra space at the top and the bottom for other seasonal items... hats, gloves, boots, and extra blankets. I like the way it fills out the space so much I'm considering leaving it out all summer. We'll see what happens.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!

WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Zara Home... I can't believe they're doing this to me. I'm not to be disturbed for the next 24 hours...

at least. Oh fuck it, it's Friday, don't call me 'til Monday.

Okay, so, I've been looking for a leather shirt for a good long while now to no avail. They're just too expensive and at the end of the day it is just a shirt.

What I do already have is several of these easy cardigan style leather blazers...

Yes... several. The first step is admitting you have a problem...

I've worn them many different ways but it has never occurred to me that the answer to my leather shirt search is simply to wear them backward...

It's so brilliant I'm actually mad I didn't think of it first.

Beautiful "vintage" iPhone 8 GB 3G I believe. Sometimes, well, a lot of the time, I wish we weren't so quick to dismiss things. I still have my iPhone 3GS because it still works. And I will keep it as long as it continues to work.

This is one of the old silver models that has been in someone's pocket with a set of keys everyday for 3 years. And I think it's beautiful. It has worn in like a good pair of shoes or a quality leather jacket. It suits the man who's carrying it. It's HIS not some homogenous piece of hardware.

This reminds me of something else too. Doesn't everyone know the whole case industry is a sham? It's a marketing ploy. Buy the brand new something you stand an excellent chance of seeing some 13 year old carrying then put a case on it of your choosing to make it "individual", a case which in all honestly has been proven to damage the phone. I have never put a case on any of my electronic devices. We're talking cell phones, laptops, cameras, and you know what they've all survived! *gasp* The cases are actually what causes your phone to crack... no bullshit.

I've kicked my phone down an escalator, dropped my camera in the toilet (don't ask), and knocked my laptop off a chest-high table onto a concrete floor all causing barely a dent. Don't be so quick to sanitize and protect your belongings and their inherent quality might actually surprise you.

I finally found the perfect wall shelf. And I got around to hanging it two days ago. And I am in looooove with my wall shelf. I can't even properly express... I can't find the words to describe how lovely it makes me feel inside to have all my photos and framed preciousness in a neat little row smack in the middle of my wall.

First its the grey wall with a black shelf that makes my heart go a-flutter. When your aesthetic imaginations finally come to fruition its very exciting. I feel... grown up!

Second if you find yourself incapable of hanging anything that's meant to stay hanging for more than five days, a wall shelf is your saving grace. All that's necessary is one stud... just one!... and all your neat and orderly dreams come true. One stud + one level = tons of art perfectly in order!

Third I love a good piece of art / print / drawing / whatever. I also love a good frame and will find a random piece of crap to put in it if necessary. As a result I find myself with more artwork than wall space / time to hang it. Enter the wall shelf! Switch art out with your mood / the season / your company (if you know what I mean... "oh dads coming over... time to store the nudes!")

That last photo is from the Ikea catalog which is where I got mine. It comes in 2 sizes and several colors. I chose the 3' black shelf for $14... a revelation!!! A revelation that's not on the website but hey, they don't ship anyway so get off your ass and take a drive. Maybe you'll find a cute, completely unnecessary throw blanket while you're there.

Also here... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Stay tuned for pictures!

Now that is how one dresses a nugget bump... or a beer belly but I'm gonna give her the benefit of the doubt.
